Inspection Manager Job Responsibilities:

Assures consistent quality of product by developing and implementing systems,processes, and techniques for ensuring that product requirements are met This position reports to the Director of Quality Assurance.

Inspection Manager Job Duties:

  • Accomplishes quality assurance manpower objectives by recruiting, selecting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, and counseling employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and analyzing job contributions; planning and reviewing compensation actions; enforcing policies and procedures.

  • Monitors, measures, and improves the Quality, Delivery, and Cost of all inspection activities within the defined scope of responsibility.

  • Achieves the objectives above by contributing information and analysis to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing production, quality, and customer-service standards; identifying and resolving problems; completing audits; determining system improvements; implementing change.

  • Meets quality assurance financial objectives by estimating requirements; reviewing and approving expenditures within budget constraints; analyzing labor and cost variances; initiating cost-effective solutions.

  • Validates quality processes by determining operational and customer requirements; writing and updating quality assurance procedures.

  • Maintains and improves product quality by completing process compliance and surveillance audits; investigating customer complaints; collaborating with other members of management to develop and improve new processes, tools, and training methods.

  • Prepares quality documentation and reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends including defect analysis; initiating preventative and corrective actions; and continuous process improvement activities.

  • Updates job knowledge by studying trends and developments in quality management; participating in educational opportunities; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.

  • Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

  • Bachelor's degree required (Engineering preferred)

  • 10 years experience required in a manufacturing environment; at least 3 of these years in Quality-related role; and at least 2 of these years in a Managerial role.

  • Master’s degree preferred.

  • Aerospace and defense industry experience preferred.

  • AS9100 Quality Management and AS9102 First Article Inspection certifications preferred

  • Lean/Six Sigma certifications preferred

Experience in lieu of a degree will be considered.

This position may be filled at a higher grade based on the successful applicant's skills, education and experience.

Due to the nature of our work qualified candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
